If tou take the sarcastic, non-plussed attitude of your Hindenburg review and apply that to your entire ‘column’, you’re going about half way to experiencing the level of underwhelm I experienced when reading it.

Writing down what a man thinks about some telly he watched does not an interesting article make. You are not creating anything. You are a vampire, criticising the work of others for effect, and the only way in which you have a chance at offering something new or worthwhile to humanity is if that effect is humorous. It is not.

Have you reviewed the show ‘Pointless’? Oh never mind.

We agree entirely with your article on July 14th regarding rubbish shows on TV. We are constantly battered by the use of the word “fantastic” – from MPs to presenters, sports people to so-called celebrities. We have written to “Points of View” on the very subject, but got no joy, so please keep battering the powers that be that we are fed up with everything being “fantastic”. (I don’t really like typing that word!)

You could make a case for the answer given on Million Pound Drop being correct, given the vagueness of the question and how pedantic you’re feeling. EastEnders did get more viewers than Downton Abbey on Christmas Day itself – but Downton Abbey overtook it once the consolidated figures came in, adding PVR data of people who recorded it to watch later, so not necessarily on Christmas Day.
